Okay, seriously, don't worry about levels or how good you are. Just play. Just play and enjoy playing. Once you start to worry about how good you are you immediately limit yourself.

ive played the violin since i was eight and im almost eighteen now, you cant really take any extra steps to "step up to the next level" except to practice, really. it all depends on how well you want to play and how much effort you are willing to put into getting there. Sorry it's a lame answer and not a quick fix or anything, but get a teacher or a friend who knows how to play to help you..its tricky stuff if you're doing orchestral.

Some other things you can do to improve your musicianship would be to:

1. Read books about music and specifically, violin pedagogy. See:

2. Listen to music a great deal, especailly if you can listen with the scores in hand. See:

3. Go to as many live concerts as are available in your area.

4. Find a really, really good teacher, and develop a practice routine.

just gradually increase the difficulty for each piece you learn to play. say, first you learn twinkle twinkle, then maybe go tell aunt rhody, then maybe eye of the tiger, then maybe bluegrass bingo, then maybe cannon in d, just bring up the diffuculty. to really get better you should get a teacher.
