How much would a "glass violin" cost?

I'm just wondering how much would it cost to own a glass violin (just like the one Vanessa Mae has).

I have one of Ted Brewer's electric vioins. I couldn't run to the Crossbow, Mine's a Vivo2, Slightly cheaper at 锟?99, but it's amazing. It's made of acrylic, and is purple, though he does have other colours. Look up Ted Brewer Violins on the net. www.tedbrewerviolins.com. You'll be glad you did. Hope this helps.

Only one company (thus far) makes one and it is valued at $152,000.00. Oddly, they say it is one of a kind. So I would guess that the one Vanessa-Mae has is not glass but PLEXIGLASS.

Ted Brewer "Crossbow" electric violin. This violin was used in her 2001 pop album Subject to Change and appears to be her main electric instrument since. The "Crossbow" violin was hand made for her from solid clear acrylic, giving the glass like appearance that looks stunning on stage. It has acrylic mirror imbelishments and acrylic fingerboard with chrome machine heads as well as being fitted with a polished aluminium tailpiece with fine adjusters. Hand crafted from acrylic block, this model took about 120 hours to make. Fitted with Ashworth A411 pickups. It is heavier than an acoustic violin, at approximately 1.5kg. The "Crossbow" model retails at 锟?500, but Vanessa-Mae's one is a special order.
