The E String on my violin is like an octave too low!? How can I fix it? Please Help!

you have pegs and fine tuners? go buy a good electric tuner, and add A LITTLE pressure to the peg until the tuner says its right. then fine tune. just dont put too much pressure, or you'll break your e all together. while your twisting the large peg add a little pressure inwards. um, before you do anything with the pegs, know which peg does what. the e string peg is the one (holding the violin with the strings facing you) that is on the lower right, although, you will want to just follow the string up to verify.
