if you take two sponges and put a rubber band around it and then use the rubber band to attach it to the violin then u have one.. my teacher did that when i first started... she couldn't find one but she found one after a bit........
i play the viola but it is the same concept just buy a sponge it works just as well and in my opinion it feels better or go onto a website i forget wat it is called i think it is http://www.wwbw.com

wait do u mean chin rest or shoulder rest cuz the sponge is for a shoulder rest. anyway the website has really non expensive stuff
At the craft store they sell mouldable plastic that you form %26amp; bake in the oven %26amp; it turn %26amp; remains very hard, then you could use two sided sticky tape %26amp; tape it on, that way you can remove it with a little alcohol if you ever get a better one.
well you konw foam right? well if you put that or cloth on top of the violin it would be comfortable. or just put something that is comfortable to you !
use a good size sponge and attach it to your violin with a rubber band...
